A Green Celebration for Children’s Day

On June 1st — International Children’s Day — Zaimov Park in Sofia bloomed with joy, flowers… and computer cases. The initiative “ITAD in a Box – With Care for Children and a Thought for the Future”, organized by ITAD Bulgaria with the support of Radio FM+ and Oborishte Municipality, brought together hundreds of smiling children and their parents.

From Hardware to Nature: A Second Life for Computers

The idea behind the initiative was simple yet powerful — to show that even outdated computer equipment can have a second life. This time, not as a device, but as a home for new life in the form of a flower.

Together with dozens of eager kids, we planted hundreds of flowers in old computer cases. The smiles, dirty hands, and colorful planters filled the day with energy and meaning. Each child left not just with a flower pot, but with a memory — that nature and technology can thrive side by side.

A Special Guest: Poli Genova Joins In

The event was made even more memorable by the beloved Bulgarian singer Poli Genova, who joined the fun and left with a handmade flower pot crafted by the children — a unique blend of eco-vision, creativity, and pure joy.

Gifts That Give Back

All the flower pots made during the event were donated to Chitalishte “Aleko Konstantinov” in the Oborishte district — with the hope that they will bring color, inspiration, and warmth to this important cultural institution.
